                       Ms. Curfman has been an attorney for over 25 years and has had the pleasure of practicing in three different states in many areas of the law over these years.  She grew up in the area north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area and moved to Indiana to begin her education.

 

Ms. Curfman is a proud Boilermaker, a 1986

graduate of the esteemed Purdue University in

West Lafayette, Indiana.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.  She worked in newspaper, television and feature films until she attended law school at Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana.  She was one of the few to pass the Indiana Bar exam before completing her law school studies and graduated with her Juris Doctorate in 1993.

 

 

 

Ms. Curfman worked as a prosecutor for the Marion County Prosecutor's Office in Indianapolis, and prosecuted many misdemeanor and felony cases in Indianapolis and Marion County, Indiana.  She also worked for the Indiana Department of State Taxation supervising several attorneys and staff in the estate tax division before moving with her family to Arizona.  

 

Ms. Curfman practiced for many years in Arizona and managed her own law firm and practiced in many areas of the law including family law, workers compensation, wills and trusts, contracts law and appellate practice.

 

Since moving back to the East Coast, Ms. Curfman has practiced in Virginia in the areas of FCC law and criminal defense.  Her practice encompasses criminal cases in Winchester, Frederick County, Clarke County, Warren County, and Shenandoah County. She is the owner and managing attorney of J Curfman Law, PLLC and is admitted to practice in Indiana, Arizona, and Virginia.
